Extended Validation SSL achieves the highest level of consumer trust through the strictest authentication standards of any SSL certificate. Extended Validation verification guidelines require to obtain and verify multiple pieces of identifying information about Extended Validation certificate applicants.
The guidelines for the issuance of EV certificates are set by the CA/Browser Forum. The EV guidelines limited the use of EV SSL certificates on public or private institutions. The following institutions are entitled, provided that they are currently registered and approved by an official registration agency.
Such documents, certificates, licenses or similar documentation must be verifiable through that registration agency.
The applying institution must be shown to exist in fact und must being established with their business operations.
All listed company data must be able to be reviewed.
The certificate request for an EV certificate has to be confirmed by an authorised contact person of the company.
Please note the listed items and requirements to ensure that your application can be processed easily and contemporary.
Note: The so-called Common Name (CN) in the certificate must be issued to the complete URL. In addition, the "Organisation“ (short "O") and the company headquarter ( "Locality", short "L") must be correspond to the information of the documents (e.g., commercial register extract).

- Confirmation of request, which must be signed by the authorised signatory person which has been indicated in the request
- Confirmation of the right to use the domain name (required only if the domain is not registered to the organisation stated in the certificate request).

The information provided by you in the request for a TC Extended Trust SSL Certificate will be verified by TC TrustCenter as described below:
For private sector organisations and government agencies the organisation will be reviewed directly by means of available data base through TC TrustCenter. If the review by means of available data base is not possible, the applicant will be contacted to file subsequently the missing information. As soon as the documents are given, the order may be further processed.
2. Verification of Physical Existence:
- The address of the organisation specified in the request has to match with the official address of the register entry accordingly.
- Telephone contact. The phone number used for this purpose must be generally available (eg listed in a public telephone directory).
3. Verification of the Authorised Signatory Person (Business Contact):
- It is required to submit a copy of an official PhotoID (e.g. passport)
- The further telephone verification is done in several steps:
A) Employment and Authorization of the Business Contact can be confirmed by the Human Resources Department and/or Executive at the organization
B) Finally, a verification of the approval of the certificate request with the Business Contact by phone
