Required Documentation for TC Trust SSL

Every TC Trust SSL certificate includes the registration of your domain and organization to assure web site visitors of your business identity.

When you request a TC Trust SSL certificate, TC TrustCenter will verify the identity of the business entity responsible for the Internet domain name for which the certificate is requested. Before proceeding through the enrolment process, you should know what information you will need to provide in order for our team to complete the verification process.

You must make sure that the following items consistently match in order to have your server certificate order processed:

  • Organisation's legally registered name entered in the CSR (Certificate Signing Request)
  • Legally registered name and address listed in enrolment
  • Registrant name and address in InterNIC/WHOIS record

After completion of the enrolment process, you will receive a confirmation email from TC TrustCenter, which confirms the receipt of your application and specifies the requested registration documents as described below as well:

To verify the given information in the certificate request, we need the following documents:

  • A copy of your current commercial extract from your business license, or an equivalent document, unless you provided that documentation already in a previous request.

Acceptable documents for Proof of Organisation include:

  • DUNS number (Dun and Bradstreet)
  • Articles of Incorporation
  • Business License
  • Doing Business As (DBA) registration
  • Partnership documentation
  • Sole Proprietorship documentation
  • Written confirmation of an authorised signatory, that you are applying for the certificate on his behalf and administer (a detailed form will be provided with the confirmation e-mail)
  • If the domain is not registered to the  organization stated in the certificate request, TC TrustCenter requires a confirmation of the right to use the domain name. (a detailed form will be provided attached to the confirmation e-mail)

Please send Proof of Organisation and the completed and signed documents to TC Trust Center at +49 (0) 40 80 80 26-126. Make a note on the cover page wich include your domain name and the certificate application number.

If any of the above items do not match or are not submitted, the processing of your certificate request may be delayed.

NOTE: All documents can be submitted in German or English. No additional translations of the documents required.

Once the Proof of Organisation documents and the right to use the domain have been submitted , they will not be required again unless the documents are not older than three years and details did not change (an up-to-date declaration may be asked for).
